Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is not likely to travel with the rest of the squad to Seville to take part in a friendly match against Real Betis.
This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who reported this afternoon via FCInter1908 that the 29-year-old is likely to stay behind and continue training as he looks to get back to his best physical condition, rather than being called up for the match.
Lukaku has been in full training with the rest of the Nerazzurri squad since Monday, and the signs have been encouraging as far as the Belgian’s physical fitness.
However, the striker is still some way from his optimal condition.
Accordingly, the sense is that Lukaku will not be quite ready to play a role in Saturday’s match against Real Betis.
Instead, the decision is likely to be taken for the striker to use the weekend to train and work on his physical fitness in view of friendlies against Reggina and Sassuolo.
