Inter are determined to sign Racing Club midfielder Carlos Alcaraz but may struggle to afford the Argentine teenager.

According to FCInterNews.it, both Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio and assistant Dario Baccin are convinced by Alcaraz’s potential and have recommended that the club swoop for him, after scouting him in Argentina.

It is reported that Inter would only be able to land the 19-year-old if they were to raise funds through making sales in January, and they are at risk of missing out on him should they delay this.

Premier League strugglers Wolverhampton Wanderers are thought to have shown an interest in Alcaraz, whilst Portuguese champions Porto are also considering meet Racing’s asking price of €15 million outright, or €10-12m plus a percentage of any future resale.

Inter may offer striker Facundo Colidio to Racing in exchange in an effort to lower the price, with the 22-year-old enjoying a good season back in his homeland on loan at Atletico Tigre.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are boosted by Alcaraz’s interest in joining them, and the midfielder may be willing to hold out to secure a move to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
