Inter strikers Romelu Lukaku and Edin Dzeko will have the chance to prove that they can be a real option in attack over the rest of the season with their likely start against Napoli next month.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who suggest that the pair can cement a place for themselves in coach Simone Inzaghi’s thinking if they show chemistry against the Partenopei.

Lukaku and Dzeko have not been on the pitch together since Inter’s opening match of the season, a 2-1 win away to Lecce.

In that match, Inzaghi had gone all-out attack, using all of his strikers to push for a late winner, rather than using Lukaku and Dzeko as an attacking duo at any point during the match.

Against Napoli, however, it is likely that the pair will lead the line together.

The late return from the World Cup of Lautaro Martinez means that the Argentine is likely to start the match on the bench, and so Lukaku and Dzeko will form the strike partnership in the starting eleven.

If the two strikers can show chemistry against Napoli, then Inzaghi could see them as an option worth turning to going forward.
