Inter are set to open up contract extension negotiations formally with striker Edin Dzeko in February.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri will aim to sort the 36-year-old’s future out shortly after the January transfer window closes.
Dzeko’s future at Inter past the end of the current season remains uncertain.
Early indications have suggested that both the player and the club have a strong willingness to continue on past the end of June 2023 when his current deal expires.
However, no formal contract extension offer has yet arrived for Dzeko and his representatives to continue.
The Nerazzurri are dealing with other priorities at the moment, but plan to begin talks with the former Roma, Manchester City, and Wolfsburg striker in due course.
According to Tuttosport, Inter will sit down with Dzeko and his representatives in February to make progress in contract talks.
