Inter defender Stefan de Vrij suffered a minor knock in training, and he could be absent from the Nerazzurri’s friendly match against Sassuolo tomorrow evening.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report that the 30-year-old has picked up a minor muscle problem which could be enough to rule him out of tomorrow’s match against the Neroverdi.

De Vrij has been back in training for a little over a week following the exit of the Dutch national team from the World Cup in Qatar at the quarterfinal stage earlier this month.

The Dutchman sustained a minor muscle problem in training today, for which he is being assessed.

The injury is not believed to be very serious, but could be enough to see him left out of the squad to face Sassuolo in a friendly match tomorrow evening, the Nerazzurri’s final friendly match before their return to Serie A.
