Reggina head coach Filippo Inzaghi is targeting Inter captain Samir Handanovic for next summer should his team reach promotion to Serie A.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 38-year-old is one of Inzaghi and Reggina’s main targets in goal along with Torino’s Etrit Berisha.

Should Reggina be promoted to the Italian top flight next season, which they are currently poised to do at second in the Serie B table, they will aim to strengthen their squad.

Coach Inzaghi, brother of Inter coach Simone, wants to add top flight experience, particularly in goal.

Nerazzurri captain Handanovic is one of the Calabrians’ main targets, along with former Lazio and Atalanta man Berisha.

Given that Handanovic is currently behind Andre Onana in the pecking order at Inter, and sees his contract runs out at the end of June 2023, Inzaghi and Reggina could look to convince him to leave for regular playing time.
