Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is determined to prove himself ready for the Nerazzurri’s crunch Serie A clash against Napoli next week.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the forward returned to training today after helping Argentina lift the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and is ready to push for a starting spot against the Partenopei on Wednesday.
Coach Simone Inzaghi is currently expected to pair Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku in attack against the league leaders, but a motivated Martinez is eager to try to change the former Lazio tactician’s mind.
Inter currently trail Napoli by 11 points in the Serie A table and the match at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza is being viewed as a must-win clash if the Nerazzurri have any chance of winning the Scudetto.
Martinez endured a difficult World Cup on a personal level, as he failed to score from open play, but has returned to training motivated to reclaim his starting spot.
