Inter are close to signing young Monza defender Sheriff Kassama and have the belief that the 18-year-old can have a real pathway into their first team over the next few seasons.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that Kassama is one of the most highly-rated youth prospects in defense within the Italian setup.

Inter are on the verge of completing a deal with Monza for Kassama, who will arrive from the Brianzoli’s youth system.

The 18-year-old will initially be brought in to play under Christian Chivu with the Nerazzurri’s Primavera team.

However, the Gazzetta reports, the Nerazzurri see Kassama as more than just a youth prospect with potential.

According to the newspaper, the 18-year-old Italian youth international is seen as a player who will be ready for opportunities in the first team already over the next few seasons alongside his work with the Primavera.
