Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi does not feel that his team underestimated Sampdoria in their goalless Serie A draw against the Ligurians.

Speaking in a press conference after the match, as reported by FCInterNews, the coach stressed that the Nerazzurri took the match seriously despite failing to win it, although he rued that it’s the kind of match in which they cannot afford to drop points.

Inter had picked up impressive wins against Atalanta and AC Milan in their past two Serie A matches heading into their away clash with Sampdoria.

This could have been enough to suggest that the Nerazzurri should have been considered significant favourites against a Blucerchiati team who are in the relegation zone.

However, despite having the majority of the possession, Inter could not break down an organized Sampdoria defense, and they had to settle for sharing the points.

“We feel some disappointment, but the team performed well,” Inzaghi said after the match, “the team created a lot pf chances and didn’t underestimate their opposition.”

“We should have done better, it’s a draw that doesn’t suit us and it leaves us feeling a lot of regret,” he added.

“We came into this after some big matches where we did not concede though, we have to keep working like this.”

“It’s expected that in matches like this, where we created so many chances, they have to be won,” the coach stressed.
