There have been a few lingering rumours about the fallout from the incident between Romelu Lukaku and Nicolo Barella during the team’s Serie A draw against Sampdoria on Monday, but these are “much ado about nothing.”

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the players have made up and are ready to move on, and there is no real affect on the team’s morale.

According to FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri’s squad has long been at least somewhat tolerant of Barella’s tendency to lose his temper and show negative body language on the pitch at times.

The reason for this is that the 26-year-old’s wearing his heart on his sleeve like this is accepted as a sign that he has an intense desire for the team to win.

Whilst the feeling is clearly that Barella went too far on Monday evening, and also that Lukaku’s reaction to him was unprofessional, no one is still dwelling on it, and it is water under the bridge.
