The tempers flaring between Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana and striker Edin Dzeko in yesterday evening’s clash against Porto was a sign that there are some real nerves within this Nerazzurri team.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who argue that the incident looks especially significant particularly coming after a similar one between Nicolo Barella and Romelu Lukaku last week.
Dzeko clearly showed his frustration with Onana in one moment during the first half of yesterday’s match when the Bosnian wanted the ball played to him, whilst the keeper defended himself with equal frustration.
The flare-up hardly lasted more than a few seconds, but it showed how both players seemed well aware of the stakes of the match and then need to get things right.
For the Gazzetta, the real resemblance to a similar incident between Barella and Lukaku in last Monday’s goalless draw away to Sampdoria is in that it showed the players clearly nervous.
Inter’s players look to be well aware of how little margin for error they have at the moment, as every missed pass or failed run seems to be a potential catlalyst for an argument as the team all want to do better.
