Former Belgian national team assistant coach Thierry Henry does not expect that Inter striker Romelu Lukaku would have any desire to return to Chelsea next season.

Speaing on the CBS Golazo broadcast after the Nerazzurri’s Champions League win over Porto, Henry explained that based on his conversations with the Belgian, there would be no desire on his part to do anything other than stay at Inter.

Given that Lukaku is still technically only on loan at Inter until the end of June, the 29-year-old’s future is up in the air.

Should the Nerazzurri either decline to extend the Belgian’s loan, or fail to come to an agreement with Chelsea, then the player would return to the Premier League club.

However, Henry worked and spoke with Lukaku whilst he was assisting Roberto Martinez in charge of the Belgian national team.

When his co-host Jamie Carragher suggested the possibility of the Belgian returning to Chelsea, Henry replied that “I don’t think he wants to. He wants to stay at Inter.”
