A firmer disciplinary hand with the squad and more varied tactics are the two main things that Inter’s directors have asked for from coach Simone Inzaghi.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri’s directors had a frank talk with the coach where they outlined what they feel has been missing in terms of his management.

Whilst there is no expectation that Inzaghi will have the same intense manner with his players that his predecessor Antonio Conte had, Inter’s directors feel that at times he is too quick to cushion the blow of criticism directed at the squad.

The directors want the 46-year-old to be forthright in addressing the players when they are not good enough, and push them out of any slumps with a firm hand.

Moreover, the feeling that the tactical approach has gotten stale from Inzaghi has become palpable.

According to the Corriere, Inter’s directors have asked that the coach switch things up more as they feel that in recent matches it has been too easy for opposition coaches to predict and plan measures to counteract the Nerazzurri’s style of play.
