Italian journalist Luca Marchetti is anticipating that there could be some managerial musical chairs in Serie A this season, with Inter’s Simone Inzaghi one of the coaches whose place in his team is very much at risk.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, via FCInter1908, the journalist predicted that not only Inzaghi, but also AC Milan’s Stefano Pioli and Juventus boss Max Allegri are among the coaches whose race may be run.

Despite Inter having only extended Inzaghi’s contract during the summer transfer window leading into this season, there have already been more than one or two murmurs regarding the 46-year-old’s future.

The sense that the team should not be as far behind Napoli as they are in the title race has been used as a point against the former Lazio coach.

As such, there have been reports that the decision on whether or not to keep Inzaghi in post or go in search of a new coach will be dependent on how he and the team finish the season fighting on multiple fronts.

“After last summer when so many clubs continued to put their faith in the coaches that they have, I think that it could be different this season,” Marchetti said.

“It could come down to the situations of which clubs make the Champions League,” he continued.

“If we look at Inzaghi at Inter for example, I think he has to finish in the top four, and also solve the team’s problems with inconsistency.”

Marchetti suggested that “It’s a similar situation with Pioli and Allegri as well, I think that there are a lot of coaches at risk.”
