Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi has made clear to his squad that tomorrow evening’s Champions League round of sixteen second leg away to Porto is essentially their last chance to prove themselves.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the coach has made clear that, whilst tomorrow’s match can be an opportunity to bounce back, unlike others this season, it marks a point of no return.

The tone of Inzaghi’s talk to his players after Friday’s defeat away to Spezia was somewhat different than the one following the loss away to Bologna.

The coach stressed that what had been missing against the Aquilotti was a sense of ruthlessness and the focus needed over ninety minutes, rather than an outright write-off of a performance such as the one against Bologna.

Accordingly, Inzaghi was keen to emphasize that, as matches against Barcelona during the fall had been, tomorrow’s match can be an opportunity for this group of players to prove themselves on the biggest stage.

However, the coach made clear, if the players fail to do so, there could be no coming back from it.
