Inter have set a deadline of Easter this year, or April 9, for when they expect the response from defender Stefan de Vrij to their offer of a new two-year contract.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri have the offer of a two-year contract extension worth around €3.5 million net per season on the table, and want the former Lazio defender to make his mind up within the next month or so.

Inter would be happy to keep hold of de Vrij for another couple seasons rather than seeing the 31-year-old Dutch international leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

As such, a contract offer has been on the table for some time, with the Nerazzurri offering the Dutchman a new deal worth €3.5 million net per season.

So far, the player has been reflecting on whether he wants to stay or try a new adventure, but Inter want his final response early next month.
