However, the players put in the kind of committed and organized display that was needed to keep a clean sheet and book their place in the last eight of Europe’s top club competition.
Wingback Federico Dimarco celebrated the win in a post on his Instagram account, writing, “We’re in the quarterfinals! This is for all the people who travelled all the way here to support us but then couldn’t get in the stadium.”
