Inter Milan are due to add to their coffers this summer by selling defender Lorenzo Pirola to Salernitana on a permanent basis, after an impressive loan spell.

As reported by CalcioMercato, Salernitana have been impressed with Pirola’s impact since joining the club on a season-long loan deal last summer and are ready to meet a clause in the agreement to sign him outright.

This would earn Inter €5 million for the 21-year-old, who has settled in well in his first season at Serie A level and contributed two goals in 21 league appearances for the Granata.

There is currently no reason to suggest that Salernitana won’t take up their option and they are due to trigger the agreement to buy him in the summer, but Inter maintain an option to bring him back to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza at a cost of €8m.

Pirola came through the Nerazzurri’s youth academy but has only made a single senior appearance for the club, in a 4-0 win over SPAL in Serie A in July 2020.
