Monza wingback Carlos Augusto reportedly prefers a switch to Inter Milan over Juventus, but his future is intertwined with Robin Gosens.

The 24-year-old was one of the main breakout stars in Serie A last term. He proved to be a menace for the opposition on the left wing.

The Italo-Brazilian still has a contract with the Brianza club for another season but could embark on a new adventure this summer.

According to Tuttosport via FcInterNews, Inter Milan and Juventus are both interested in the player’s services.

However, the left-back would prioritize a transfer to the Nerazzurri. This would allow him to feature in the Champions League next season.

But as the source explains, Inter won’t be able to lunge forward for Augusto unless they manage to offload Gosens.

The 29-year-old joined the Nerazzurri in January 2022 following an impressive stint at Atalanta. Nonetheless, he hasn’t been able to cement himself a starting berth in Simone Inzaghi’s formation.

Last season, the German served as a mere understudy for Federico Dimarco. The Italian established himself as the ultimate first choice on the left flank.

But while Inter would be in favor of parting ways with Gosens, they couldn’t find an agreement with either Wolfsburg or Union Berlin.

However, the source expects some developments on this front towards the end of August.

As for Augusto, he could either seal a switch this summer or renew his contract with Monza who would promise to sell him next season.
