Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard is not hiding from the Nerazzuri’s ambitions to win the Serie A title this season.

The 27-year-old spoke to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, noting that the title has been Inter’s aim right from the start of the campaign.

Inter certainly took a step in the direction of the Serie A title yesterday.

The Nerazzurri defeated Juventus, the team who have looked like their fiercest rivals for the Scudetto, in the Derby d’Italia.

And it may only have been a 1-0 win, but the performance was an emphatic one.

Inter have been the team who have scored the most goals in Serie A this season. And at the other end, they have conceded the fewest.

Yesterday’s match was yet another demonstration of why that is the case.

Inter still have a long way to go, and many difficult matches to come.

But the Nerazzurri now hold a tangible advantage, and look well-placed to make good on it.

Inter Defender Benjamin Pavard Not Hiding Scudetto Ambitions

27-year-old French international Pavard joined Inter during the summer transfer window preceding this season.

Pavard joined the Nerazzurri from Bayern Munich, where he had won four Bundesliga titles.

And now, the former Lille and Stuttgart defender has the chance to make it five domestic league titles in a row.

If Inter can do it this season, it will mean that Pavard has helped the club to their first Scudetto in three years, and the first under coach Simone Inzaghi.

“We want to win the Scudetto,” Pavard told Mediaset.

“We’ve been aiming for that since the start of the season,” the Frenchman continued.

“It’s what we’ve been thinking about and we want to win it.”

Pavard continued that “Now we have an advantage in points over our rivals. But we still have many matches to play.”

“We’re thinking one match at a time, and only focusing on ourselves, as we’ve been doing since the start of the season.”
