Inter Milan could reportedly opt to terminate the contract of Joaquin Correa this summer, thus ending his disappointing stint at the club.

The Argentine never truly managed to carve himself an important role at the club after following Simone Inzaghi to Appiano Gentile in the summer of 2021.

The second striker endured two forgettable campaigns at San Siro before joining Olympique Marseille last summer.

Correa signed for the Ligue 1 side on loan, but failed to contribute with a single goal or assist in all competitions,

Therefore, OM opted against maintaining his services on a permanent basis, sending him back to Inter.

According to Tuttosport via FcInter1908, Correa has South American suitors in River Plate, Estudiantes and Corinthians.

However, if a transfer doesn’t materialize, the Nerazzurri could facilitate the player’s departure by rescinding his contract.

The Argentina international still has one year left on his deal which will expire in June 2025.

This solution would help the club get rid of the player’s gross wages worth circa 6 million euros.

Why Inter Milan Could Decide To Terminate The Contract Of Joaquin Correa

However, Correa himself would also have to consent to the contract termination.

Moreover, terminating the player’s contract could still be a costly solution for the Italian champions.

After all, the striker’s value on the balance sheet is 8.5 million euros. Therefore, a sale below this figure would constitute a capital loss for the club.

As we reported yesterday, Inter are still hoping for an offer from the Saudi Pro League. This would allow the club to cut their losses on the former Lazio star.
