Reigning Serie A champions Inter Milan are seemingly on the verge of securing UEFA Champions League knockout qualification.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Simone Inzaghi’s men boast a substantial 89.55 percent chance of locking down a top-eight finish.

That’s hardly surprising, considering they’ve been in formidable form since the start of the newly formatted league phase.

Following a scoreless draw at Manchester City, they’ve racked up a four-game winning streak to climb to second in the 36-team table.

Indeed, only pacesetters Liverpool have picked up more points than Inter’s 13.

However, the Nerazzurri can ill-afford to take these predictions for granted.

Only three points separate Inter from ninth-placed Aston Villa, with three games left.

Therefore, beating Bayer Leverkusen in tonight’s blockbuster at the BayArena could be a decisive step forward.

Adding to this sentiment, Inter will face Sparta Prague and Monaco in the last two rounds.

Though a home clash against the French giants could throw a spanner in the works, Sparta can hardly cope with the Nerazzurri.

However, Inter must take it one step at a time.

Three points from tonight’s fixture would likely seal the deal for Inzaghi’s team.
