Inter Milan are potentially 90 minutes away from securing a place in the Champions League semi-finals for the second time in three years.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, achieving that feat would significantly bolster the club’s finances.

Lautaro Martinez and Davide Frattesi were on the scoresheet as Inter stunned Bayern Munich 2-1 last week.

Therefore, Simone Inzaghi’s charges have set one foot in the semi-finals.

However, there’s no room for complacency ahead of tonight’s return leg at the San Siro.

Inter have already hit a €100 million landmark in terms of Champions League earnings this season.

Locking down a semi-final berth would trigger a €3 million bonus for the squad.

But that’s not the only incentive for Inzaghi’s charges to get the job done in front of their home fans.

With around €25m at stake, Inter could notably strengthen the club’s budget for the summer transfer window.

Indeed, they would earn €15m from UEFA for getting this far in the competition and over €9m from ticket sales.
