Barcelona are giving serious consideration to making an approach for Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries, particularly as he has a release clause inserted into his contract.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, and via FCInterNews.it, the Netherlands international has emerged as a target for the La Liga champions and their interest could soon become concrete.

Dumfries’ contract contains a minimum fee release clause that is only valid until the end of July, meaning Barcelona must act quickly if they wish to trigger it and guarantee an agreement for the former PSV Eindhoven player.

Indeed, the Blaugrana have hired noted agent Jorge Mendes to work on their behalf to secure a deal with Dumfries before they trigger the release clause.

Meanwhile, Spanish journalist Joan Fontes reports that the next few days could be pivotal, with Barcelona’s interest in Dumfries heating up considerably.

The Dutchman joined Inter in 2021 and has made 179 appearances for the club, winning the Serie A title and two Coppa Italia crowns.
