Inter Milan have sidelined Kristjan Asllani from their plans for next season despite the player’s hopes of staying at San Siro.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Cristian Chivu has ruled the Albanian midfielder out of his project.

Following three underwhelming seasons in Milan, Kristjan Asllani looked destined to leave Inter this summer.

However, after rejecting several proposals from abroad, his exit has become complicated.

Indeed, the 23-year-old doesn’t want to join a foreign club. Instead, the playmaker is hoping to attract interest from other Serie A teams.

Asllani has fallen out of favor at San Siro. However, Inter’s substantial demands have deterred domestic suitors.

Meanwhile, the club is inching closer to offloading another fringe star.

Veteran striker Mehdi Taremi will not return to Italy as his agents work to find him a new club outside Serie A.

Despite drawing inquiries from the Premier League, the 33-year-old could continue his career in Ligue 1.

Indeed, OGC Nice have emerged as Taremi’s potential destination.
