Zvonimir Boban has drawn a comparison between Inter Milan prodigy Francesco Pio Esposito and Fiorentina veteran Edin Dzeko.
Speaking to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, the former AC Milan midfielder praised the 20-year-old striker.
Francesco Pio Esposito has attracted a lot of attention at the start of the season.
Despite failing to score in the first four Serie A rounds, the young center-forward strung together several impressive performances.
Indeed, he was outstanding in Inter’s 2-1 home win over Sassuolo on Monday.
Esposito took Lautaro Martinez’s place in the starting XI and excelled.
However, Arijenat Muric made a terrific save to thwart his overhead kick, denying what would’ve been a memorable breakthrough.
Yet, Esposito continues to make strides in Italy’s top flight.
Plaudits are coming from every corner of the country, with Esposito being hailed as one of the nation’s standout talents.
Meanwhile, Boban was the latest to join the chorus of praise.

Esposito recently identified Edin Dzeko as one of his childhood idols.
Now, Boban compared the young gun to his role model.
“I’ve known Dzeko since he was little, and I can say that Pio Esposito moves in a similar way,” Boban claimed.
“But Edin was much faster than he looked. When he started running, it was impossible to catch him,” he added.
“I hope Pio improves in this area as well, even though speed in football is something that can hardly be enhanced significantly.
“Given his class and vision of the game, he can truly become an important player.
“Perhaps his speed will prevent him from reaching even higher levels.”
Despite his eye-catching showing against Sassuolo, Esposito could drop to the bench when Inter take on Cagliari on Saturday.
Indeed, Lautaro Martinez has regained full fitness and will likely retake his place in the starting line-up.
