Inter Milan will use their match against Cagliari on Saturday to assess I Sardi goalkeeper Elia Caprile, as Nerazzurri head coach Cristian Chivu continues his goalkeeper rotation of his own with Yann Sommer expected to start ahead of Josep Martinez.
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Sommer will be back in goal today.
Former Barcelona man Martinez played last weekend against Sassuolo and Chivu is set to rotate once more.
Chivu made it clear that he wants to utilise both of his goalkeepers this season, whilst also keeping an eye on the future.
Inter Milan Tracking Caprile As Sommer & Martinez Rotation Asks Questions
The Gazzetta continue to note that Inter are fans of Caprile.
Chivu’s side have identified him as a potential solution for the future.
Summer’s contract with the Nerazzurri expires next summer and the club have begun their search for his long-term replacement.
Caprile is only 24 and is considered to be one of Italy’s best young goalkeepers.
However, Inter are not the only club interested in the Cagliari keeper.
Fierce rivals Milan are also watching the Italian as a potential replacement for Mike Maignan.
