Veteran goalkeeper Yann Sommer has re-established himself as a reliable presence between the sticks for Inter Milan.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the 36-year-old has regained the club’s trust after a dismal performance against Juventus.

Yann Sommer briefly fell out of favor at San Siro after his costly display helped the Bianconeri win last month’s Derby d’Italia.

Indeed, the former Bayern Munich star made two serious mistakes at the Allianz Stadium as Inter slumped to a 4-3 defeat.

Therefore, Cristian Chivu decided to bench him in favor of Josep Martinez in recent Serie A matches.

Despite returning to the starting XI, Sommer will most likely depart the club at the end of the season.

With his contract running out next June, the Serie A giants are in the market for a new shot-stopper.

Furthermore, Beppe Marotta has already assembled a three-man shortlist.

Atalanta ace Marco Carnesecchi sits at the top of the pile.

However, Inter are also keen on Cagliari’s rising star Elia Caprile and in-demand Freiburg star Noah Atubolu.
