A new transfer derby could be brewing between Inter Milan and AC Milan for Oumar Solet, with both clubs tracking the Udinese defender ahead of the 2026 transfer window.

According to Tuttosport, the 25-year-old Frenchman has long been admired by scouts from both sides of the city.

Highly versatile and capable of playing anywhere across the backline, Solet has impressed with his physicality, technical comfort on the ball and ability to step into midfield.

Indeed, traits that have drawn comparisons to modern hybrid centre-backs like Manuel Akanji.

For Inter, Solet’s name has emerged once again as part of broader defensive planning ahead of next season.

With veterans such as Acerbi, de Vrij and Darmian likely to depart, the Nerazzurri are exploring long-term replacements who can fit into Cristian Chivu’s high defensive line.

Milan, meanwhile, have also kept the Frenchman under close observation as they look to refresh their backline options for Massimiliano Allegri’s evolving system.

However, any concrete move remains on hold due to Solet’s ongoing legal situation.

The Udine Prosecutor’s Office continues to investigate the defender for alleged sexual assault, a serious issue that has so far cooled formal approaches from interested clubs.
