Inter star Matteo Darmian will reportedly be in contention for the upcoming Derby della Madonnina clash against AC Milan.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri defender has resumed full training after recovering from injury.
Darmian sustained a calf problem during October’s international break.
Therefore, Inter boss Cristian Chivu couldn’t count on the 35-year-old in the last eight matches between the Champions League and Serie A.
However, the former Rossoneri ace is on the verge of recovery.
Matteo Darmian to Feature in Inter vs AC Milan Mammoth Clash
Darmian has tumbled down the pecking order following the arrival of Manuel Akanji.
Despite losing his first-team status this season, Darmian remains a valuable asset for the Nerazzurri.
Indeed, his ability to cover multiple positions across the backline allows Chivu to rotate his regular starters.
Furthermore, Darmian can also operate on both wings, enabling Federico Dimarco and Denzel Dumfries to get rest when needed.
As such, his return from injury comes as a boost for Inter ahead of the highly-awaited Milan derby.
Meanwhile, Henrikh Mkhitaryan will not be at Chivu’s disposal.
