Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu still has one key selection dilemma to resolve ahead of Sunday night’s Serie A clash with Bologna, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Piotr Zielinski competing for a place in midfield.

According to Sky Sport, Chivu is ready to rely on his core players for Inter’s first league match of the year at San Siro.

The Nerazzurri are expected to restart from the ThuLa partnership, with Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram set to lead the line once again.

Behind them, Francesco Pio Esposito remains a strong option from the bench.

Therefore, the Italian starlet could be called upon to change the game.

Meanwhile Ange-Yoan Bonny continues his recovery with a return targeted for the trip to Parma.

On the right flank, Luis Henrique is expected to start again after a run of consistent performances.

The main doubt sits in midfield.

Piotr Zielinski, who suffered cramp against Atalanta, is under pressure from Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

In defence, Manuel Akanji should operate centrally.

Meanwhile Francesco Acerbi is available again but expected to start from the bench.

Probable Inter XI (3-5-2):
Sommer; Bisseck, Akanji, Bastoni; Luis Henrique, Barella, Calhanoglu, Zielinski, Dimarco; Thuram, Lautaro Martinez.
