Henrikh Mkhitaryan remains a serious doubt for Inter Milan’s Easter Sunday clash with Roma, with the Armenia midfielder continuing to train separately at Appiano Gentile during the international break.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the chances of Mkhitaryan starting against Roma look very slim.

Inter Vs Roma – Mkhitaryan Unlikely To Feature

His involvement in any capacity is considered almost impossible at this stage.

This is indeed a significant blow given his importance to Cristian Chivu’s midfield options.

The contrast with Lautaro Martinez is notable.

The Inter captain is on track to return to the starting lineup for the Roma fixture.

And has indeed been progressing well in his individual sessions.

That is a big gain for Inter, who have looked much weaker without their captain and star striker.

Whilst Mkhitaryan’s absence is sure to be felt against Roma, having Lautaro back makes up for it.

Inter wanted to keep the training numbers healthy during the break.

Therefore, the club have integrated several Under-23 players into the group at Appiano Gentile.

Spinaccè, Bovo, Maye and Kaczmarski have all joined the sessions alongside a number of Primavera players.

Indeed, giving Chivu a fuller squad to work with as he prepares for one of the biggest matches of the season.
