Lautaro Martinez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are both working through their respective recoveries during the international break, with the Inter Milan captain edging closer to a return ahead of the Easter Sunday clash with Roma.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, both players are training at Appiano Gentile across the weekend while the rest of the squad enjoys days off during the international break.

Their programme combines therapy, gym work and pitch sessions.

The situations of the two players differ significantly, however.

Mkhitaryan still has several days of individual sessions ahead of him before he can rejoin the group.

Inter Vs Roma – Lautaro Expected Back, Mkhitaryan Unlikely

Lautaro, by contrast, is ready to return to full group training next week, the week that leads directly into the Inter vs Roma Easter Sunday showdown.

The Argentina captain has been sidelined for almost 40 days.

Gazzetta describe him as pushing hard and eager to return, but having learned, through necessity, that patience and caution are the only route back to his best.

Inter need the real Lautaro for the title run-in.

Without him, the club has dropped points and goals have dried up.
His return could not come at a better time.
