Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be the major absentee for Inter Milan in Sunday’s mouth-watering Serie A clash against Roma.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the 37-year-old is unlikely to recover for the upcoming match at San Siro.

March’s international break has offered Cristian Chivu a fortnight to rally his troops after a disappointing month.

Indeed, Inter failed to win all three league games in March, allowing second-placed AC Milan to reduce the gap to six points.

Furthermore, captain Lautaro Martinez has been on the sidelines since mid-February.

However, he should recover for the upcoming showdown against the Giallorossi.

Mkhitaryan Only Doubt Ahead of Inter Milan vs Roma Clash

Lautaro’s absence has weighed heavily on the team, with Inter unable to find form without their talismanic striker.

Still, Chivu should welcome El Toro back to the fold in time for Roma’s visit to San Siro.

On the other hand, Mkhitaryan is likely to miss Sunday’s fixture due to a muscle injury as he hopes to regain full fitness ahead of Inter’s trip to Como.

Meanwhile, Marcus Thuram scored in France’s 3-1 win over Colombia at the weekend.

Despite that, the French superstar is at risk of dropping to the bench in favor of Francesco Pio Esposito.
