Inter would like to keep a hold of Joao Cancelo and Valencia would like to do the same with Geoffrey Kondogbia but due to both clubs continued problems with financial fair play, they may have to re-think the dual negotiation in order for both clubs to get their man.

Inter, like last year, have to break even and the Milan based newspaper report that the Nerazzurri need to raise around €40 million by June 30th.

Corriere dello Sport suggest the two clubs may opt to extend the May 31st deadline to redeem the players to allow one another the time to get the appropriate funds together without causing a significant risk to worsening their respective financial fair play situations.

Both players joined their current sides in a dual loan swap in the summer. Portuguese full back Cancelo arrived at Inter with a €35 million redemption fee while French midfielder Kondogbia has a €25 million redemption fee.
