There have been many conflicting reports regarding Inter’s interest in Chelsea’s Italian international Davide Zappacosta but now Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market Gianluca Di Marzio has weighed in with his report on the situation.

When Inter met Alessandro Lucci, who is the agent of Zappacosta, Roma’s Alessandro Florenzi as well as Inter’s Uruguay international midfielder Matias Vecino, Italian media outlet TMW first reported that Zappacosta was being discussed during the meeting. After the meeting the same outlet spoke briefly to Lucci outside of Inter’s offices where he denied that any negotiations were ongoing, before rushing on.

Now Gianluca Di Marzio says that despite the denials, Inter are very much looking for a full-back for the right flank and did in fact discuss Zappacosta with Lucci, enquiring into his availability at the meeting, as well as discussing and agreeing to extending former Fiorentina midfielder Matias Vecino’s contract by one year so that it now will expire at the end of June 2022.
