Inter Milan have extended the contract of Assistant Sporting Director Dario Baccin.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Baccin has been at Inter in the role of Assistant Sporting Director since 2017.

Previously, the 47-yeear-old had worked as the Academy Manager at Palermo.

Baccin has since become a key part of Inter’s transfer team.

While it has been CEO Beppe Marotta and Sporting Director Piero Ausilio who have been the Nerazzurri’s two most visible operators in the transfer market, Baccin has certainly had a vital role to play.

Baccin is part of the triumvirate that has run Inter’s transfer strategy for more than five years.

Inter Extend Contract Of Assistant Sporting Director Dario Baccin

Baccin, who has experience in scouting, has been an important part of Inter’s scouting operations.

One of the 47-year-old’s key functions has been undertaking regular scouting missions in South America.

Baccin has made regular visits to the continent. There, he has observed players for various South American clubs.

The 47-year-old decides on who Inter’s targets are along with Marotta, Ausilio, and coach Simone Inzaghi.

And that will continue to be the case for the foreseeable future, reports the Gazzetta.

Inter have extended Baccin’s contract until the end of June 2027.

That is also when Marotta and Ausilio have extended their contracts until.

Therefore, Inter’s plan is clearly to go with continuity in terms of their sporting management and project.

Meanwhile, Marotta has strongly hinted that he could leave Inter at the end of his contract.

Therefore, in the coming years Baccin and Ausilio could find themselves in a different setup.

But for the time being, it will be more of the same behind the scenes at Inter.

Baccin will remain in his post along with Marotta and Ausilio for a few more years.
