Outside the gates of Appiano Gentile today, Wesley Sneijder was stopped by fans who were waiting for the players after today’s workout had ended and he was asked what he thinks about Istanbul, Galatasaray’s hometown. According to Matteo Barzaghi on Sky Sport 24 it seemed as if the Dutchman disliked the question and answered briefly: “What kind of question is that?”
The Turkish team have in recent days stepped up their hunt for the Dutch player and yesterday Sneijder’s wife, Yolanthe, tweeted and revealed that she thought Istanbul was a beautiful city. A diplomatic response that, by some, was interpreted to be a sign that a move to the Turkish club is not entirely impossible.
Sneijders agent Soren Lerby has stated that he does not intend to comment on transfer market rumors anymore, but denies that he has been approached by Galatasarayäs presidential Aysal.
