During the international break, Wesley Sneijder took time to talk about his farewell to Inter. In an interview with Dutch Volkskrant, the former Inter midfielder talked about the move he made in January: “I realized that I had to leave. Like always, I took responsibility for my decisions and emotions.”

At the end Sneijder didn’t play with Inter: “It wouldn’t have happened with Mourinho, but at the age of 36, Stramaccioni had been given the chance to coach Inter, but he explained it at least. How could he go against the president? However, I have experienced great moments with Inter, even with President Moratti, it’s not his fault. There’s no reason to cry over spilled milk. I owe a lot to the club and him, and I’m definitely not sad.”

Sneijder also talked about his current club Galatasaray: “If a club is not interesting to me I’m not considering it. Inter wouldn’t let me leave in 2010, then I realized that I needed a change of scenery. I have never been disappointed about coming to Galatasaray.”
