Juan-Quintero-Pescara

It is never easy to look away from the standings when your team navigates in difficult waters. Daniele Delli Carri, sports director of Pescara, has managed to remain clear-sighted enough to look ahead, to address issues on the transfer market and, why not, avoid relegation with Il Delfino. Our colleagues at fcinternews.it contacted him for an exclusive interview to talk about Quintero. One of the most interesting players on the world stage that also seems to be chased by Inter.

Do you confirm this, director?

“I confirm that. Inter, along with Udinese, has been the only Italian clubs that has knocked on our door about Quintero.”

Has there been an official offer or has it been limited to talks?

“Honestly, only Udinese has submitted an official bid. A bid we quickly turned down because of the vulnerable position we are at in the standings. Letting Quintero go would have been a real suicide.”

U-20 has undoubtedly been an important showcase for the midfielder. Have any of the big teams in Europe emerged?

“Above all big European clubs. I’m talking about teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona, but even some English clubs have asked us about Fernando. My opinion is actually that if he leaves in June, it will be to leave Italy. Here there is no money to make large investments, here we  invest more in youth from the nurseries.”

How much is Quintero at?

“I won’t give any amounts, but I can say it very much.”

Does that exclude him coming to Inter?

“In football everything is possible. If Inter formulate a fair bid, we could sell him.”

And if Pescara stays in Serie A?

“Then he would also be able to stay and become the one we point to in order to start over.”
