In an interview with Corriere dello Sport, Inter’s Tommaso Rocchi talked about the upcoming game against Roma which could take Inter to the final of the Coppa Italia, “With Lazio, I played many matches against Roma, my former teammates have already tried to reach me. Playing a derby is always nice, winning is amazing. I have always appreciated the relationship with Roma’s fans because we have always had a respect for each other. I’m also friends with De Rossi and Perrotta, Totti, I have met one time in Miami. He is a very correct person.”
Rocchi then returns to the game to be played: “I fear not only Totti but all of Roma. Andreazzoli’s team is very well organized, Osvaldo and Lamela are doing very well. But we will do everything to play the final of the Coppa Italia as it would give us a big boost in this season finale when we have had many injuries. Obviously, I feel the responsibility in the attack, but I’m ready. I feel good now. I come from an injury that prevented me from finding continuity, but I have found the form and the right feeling with my teammates. It’s been a tough season with many injuries and other difficult situations on the pitch (decisions by the referees ed.) that prevented us from finding continuity. But we will not recriminate and we are already focused on Roma. An undertaking? No, I don’t think so. We start from a difficult situation and to score would give me double joy as it would make Laziali as well as Interisti happy. I don’t think about the final against Lazio.”
How is the relationship with Stramaccioni? “Very good, I like him. He has established a good relationship with me and with the team. He loves to be out on the pitch and explain every situation. Rumors about the future is nothing unusual, everyone who are used to playing football knows that. It is however nothing that affects the team.”
What does the future hold for Rocchi? “I want to stay at Inter, I will certainly not retire after this season. I still have a strong desire, this year I’ve played very little and I am charged. The 100th goal was a great success because I waited for it a long time. I want to win a trophy. In May? Maybe, I believe in it… We are in an emergency situation but it should not be an excuse, but rather something that stimulates. I believe in Inter and am confident that we will play a good game.”
