Yesterday, Saphir Taïder arrived to Algeria to join his national team and was interviewed by the newspaper Le Buteur and talked about the upcoming game with the national team and the beginning of th season with Inter which declined somewhat after the loss against Roma: “It was a very difficult game for us, we met a very strong team that has everything going in the right direction for them right now. What we we’re missing more than anything else was luck, Roma were much more concrete, but such is football. But we shouldn’t throw away everything after this match, we have worked well in pre-season and it is still a lot left of the season.”
The match against Roma was Taïders fourth from start, a sign that the player has integrated well into the team: “It’s true, I feel very good at Inter. I have been very well received from the start and coach Walter Mazzarri has given me confidence. Every week I try to show him that I’m ready and that he can count on me. As I said earlier, Inter is a great opportunity for me that will allow me to develop further.”
Taïder has often been substituted during the games, is that something that bothers him? “Not at all. The coach makes his choices and you have to respect that. Don’t forget that there are excellent players at Inter and the coach needs everyone. There’s still a lot left of the season, there are many games left. We’re all united to take the club to the top.”
Taïder also talked about the national team and the delicate match against Burkina Faso, as well as the fact that his teammate Ishak Belfodil was not called: “It’s the coach’s decision. We give everything in our clubs to be ready, then it’s up to him to choose. It is something that must be respected. If I ‘ve talked to him about it? No, in the last days we had a great match against Roma that we directed all the focus on.”
