In Bergamo against Atalanta – the game that last year meant the beginning to the end of Andrea Stramaccioni’s coaching career at Inter – Rodrigo Palacio (who scored in last season’s 3-2 defeat) is yet again expected to lead Inter’s line of attack. Mazzarri still cannot count on Diego Milito, who hopefully will be available for the game against Bologna on November the 24th. Belfodil will be suspended for the next two games and Mauro Icardi is, according to Mazzarri himself, not fit enough to play more than maybe half an hour. The only alternative is to continue to play Palacio, who more and more is becoming a leader at Inter, and a player who the club is looking to sign a new contract with in order to ensure his future in black and blue. An extension of the contract, which currently expires in 2015, would probably make Palacio Inter’s highest paid player since both Cambiasso’s and Milito’s deals are running out at the end of the season. Palacio currently earns 2.7 million euros, plus bonuses.

Still think it’s better to say goodbye after 2015 and spend the wage money one a younger player……like Iturbe…..
Yet another bad move signed Branca…..i’am a big fan of Palacio but who knows how good he will be beyond 2015……it’s like Milito….. Although he is good he’s mostly injured…..and Palacio isn’t young anymore…..
Inter has to learn to move on and not keep players longer than they should…..Learn from passed mistakes not repeating them…
That’s how Milan reasoned regarding Pirlo. He went on to lead Juve to two Scudetti. Palacio is pure quality and extending his contract by a year or two could be a good move as he could pass on some of his qualities to the younger attackers.
