Massimo Moratti spoke to FcInterNews.it outside of today’s meeting withthe president of Lombardy Roberto Maroni, a meeting which also included Erick Thohir and his assistant Steve Horovitz. Here is what he had to say: “Maroni was very polite, like always. It was an honest and good meeting where we discussed the possibility of building a new stadium in the area where the Expo 2015 is going to be organised. Thohir? He was very active and cooperative, something that is important to us all”.
Regarding Inter’s youth academy: will Moratti and Thohir provide continuity on that front?
“There has always been continuity and Thohir is happy with the way things are being done. It is always helpful because it helps us to avoid spending too much money on players…Thohir’s intention is to make sure Inter’s youth teams can compete on the same level as they have recently, and this is a good thing”.
How is life in your new role?
“It feels like a marvellous vacation”.
What can you tell us about the new stadium?
“Thohir has been very available and attentive and he understands what it is all about”.
Will we see Zanetti in a role as vice president?
“Zanetti still has four or five years left to play…”.
Will Inter be controlled by a co-operation between Moratti and Thohir?
“He just came here, he is a new person and he is trying to find out what is needed in an intelligent way. I am more than willing to help him, but I am aware of our respective roles at the club”.
