Silvia Vallini in the Sky Sport24 studio reported today that Walter Mazzarri once again tried the three man defense, and he mostly tested Hernanes in the starting eleven. The former Lazio player might play as a central midfielder or as a deep lying playmaker in front of the defenders. Regarding Nemanja Vidic Vallini had this to say;
“The Serbian could consider himself a new Inter player already. He could be the substitute of Walter Samuel. The Branca era on the other hand is at the last stages, they are moving to a different era.”
Furthermore Vallini explained that Mazzarri was very pleased with president Thohir’s statements yesterday.

hernanes is a great buy regardless where he plays. because honestly whether behind the strikers (cam) or in front of the defense (cm) he is still better than all the players currently playing there. Better than alvarez/kovacic/cambiasso/kuzmanovic/taider. If mazzari really intends on playing hernanes in front of the defense, he should start playing kovacic a bit up front behind the strikers so that henranes can easily transfer the ball to kovacic. I feel that alvarez as cam is somehow useless since he is really well marked by our opponents.
Regista is Hernanes position in brazilian national team, or in brazil they called them Volante, so its a good idea i think. Kovacic has potential to be a deep lying midfielder yet his experience is not enough, just like Pirlo in his early days, he need more time to go mature since Regista is the hardest and rarest position in serie-A. Gave Kovacic 5 years i bet he’s gonna be much better than Pirlo. As for now Hernanes can be used.
It’s exactly in front of the defence we have our offensive problems. I’ve seen so many minutes of pushing the ball from Juan to Rolando to Campa to Kuz and then back again in our last games. Kuzmanovic, Cambiasso and sadly also Kova are having trouble finding the forward passes from the central midfield (no wonder, since every team, even Juve at home, defends against us with 11 players in their own half), so we all to rarely get the ball to Ricky, Rodrigol etc. I hope and believe, that Hernanes will strengthen us in that area. How about he drops the 3 in favor of 4 at the back, play 4-3-3 for inters sake, play hernanes and kova/Freddy at cm plus a dm like taider, and Alvarez and botta on the Wings.

No it`s not!!! We have Guarin,Kocacic and Alvarez who can do it ok. That Inter needed was a defensive midfielder who could win the ball and give it to the wingers,strikers and the other midfielders. And set the pace in Inter like Motta did. So it is not a waste for Mazzarri or Inter!
But of course it would have been nice with Hernanes like a play maker!
Guarin as a CDM(his second position since his first is a CM) and Hernanes in his REAL position as a CAM?That sounds better to me!
yeah but he is not good as a CDM he is much better higher up in the pitch! Hernanes is playing CDM in Brazil and doing it good!

It’s a waste because he is better when he goes forward. Also those players you mentioned haven’t been scoring goals lately, so clearly they need some help. You’re right that Hernanes could perform that role but we need goals right now.
Yes he is better like a playmaker you have totally right.
But like playmaker you need someone further down in the pitch who can give him the ball! And that is what Inter is missing moste. Someone who can control and win the balls like Motta!
