During the evening, Sky dropped a bomb. Massimiliano Nebuloni reports that the former Inter coach, now at Chelsea, José Mourinho has offered Inter captain Javier Zanetti a contract in June. Here are the details : “In June Zanetti could be leaving Inter. During the last few days he has been contacted by Mourinho who offered him a role as player/manager. During one year he would play, partly because he is still intact and because he wants to. Thereafter, when the year is over, there would be an opportunity to be the Special One’s right hand man in the transfer market. This doesn’t mean he will leave Inter to 100 percent, but he reflects as he has realized that he’s not a part of Mazzarri’s project. He may refuse out of love and give up playing any more. But he is not sticking around to ensure the working environment, even considering the recent banners. Supposedly there has been a shocking offer from an Asian club, which was declined. He is tempted by Mourinho and now he will also discuss it with Thohir.”

This is just Inters current situation in a nutshell. Zanetti is 40 years old, but still, Chelsea want him to contribute with his experience and versatility, yet Mazzarri doesn’t find room for him in and not so strong Inter side that has been in a devastating run in recent. I do and will always hate Mazzarri for being this disrespectful to this club! I know some of you may support him, but this is a tragedy, i wish Thohir had the balls to tell Walter to start playing or start walking!

Zanetti’s versatility should be no problem for Mazzarri’s plans. But perhaps there’s something more that we don’t know.

If Zanetti is not being appreciated by Mazzarri then maybe he should go. Its not as if the door will be closed to him in the future to return to a non playing role at the club if he wishes. He is a true legend

Captain Zanetti is a part of our history. He should stay, and have a role in the club. Probably not as a sporting director cause he is too nice and noble to deal with the clowns on the transfer market.
Its up to Zanetti to decide what he will do in the future. But i respect your opinion.
