All the Italian newspapers are now beginning to question Walter Mazzarri’s future at Inter. The recent negative results have in fact made the former Napoli coach risk not continuing in the position after the season. Tuttosport even mentions a few names of possible candidates to succeed him. One of these is Sinisa Mihajlovic: “After Conte at Juventus and Seedorf at AC Milan (yes, but for how long?), there are also those who want to entrust Inter’s coaching bench to a former Inter player. And the Serbian coach is definitely a man that inextricably has a history with ties to some clubs, and among them are inter, where he was both a player and coach (he was an assistant coach under Mancini). Mihajlovic, who was close to becoming inter’s coach in 2011 when the former technical director Marco Branca finally managed to convince Massimo Moratti about focusing on Gasperini (who was fired after five games), has come back strong with Sampdoria after the experience with the Serbian national team and his actions have not gone past the Palazzo Saras unnoticed.”

“In the background – or maybe a few steps ahead… – are still the two coaches Thohir had in mind last spring if he had become Inter’s leader a little faster, that is, Frank De Boer and Michael Laudrup. The Dutchman, who coaches Ajax and is bound by a contract until 30 June 2017, has been dominating at home over the last four seasons when he has won three titles in a row and with six rounds remaining now is 8 points ahead of second placed Feyenoord. Thohir has never hidden his esteem for him, and for several reasons De Boer remains as first choice. He also likes the former Danish playmaker who was fired by Swansea City on February 4 after a season that has not been as good in the wake of those with Brondby, Getafe and Mallorca.”
