“I can’t smile, not with all the goodwill. I’m sad for this bad period for an Inter which continues to throw points for the wind. Points that can be crucial at the end of the season. Sad because in the past home games there has been a loss and two draws against teams that are within reach of Inter.”
This was the bitter comment from Lele Oriali after 2-2 between Inter and Bologna. In Mediaset’s studio the former bandiera and director commented on the umpteenth drawn match and expressed his dismay over the state of Mazzarri’s team: “Icardi scored two beautiful goals and finally there was even a penalty awarded: it seems to be a curse, but I don’t think we can only talk about bad luck. For a while, unfortunately, we haven’t played well. We have lost the Inter we had during the first ten matches in the league. Initially it was a group that was growing, that scored more goals and also conceded very few. It looked like it could be a positive season, instead it unfortunately isn’t. They will say that they will get as many points as possible in the last six games to reach the goal Europa League, but the games are becoming fewer and so many points have been thrown away.”
However, there were some positive things, like the former Sampdoria striker: “Icardi is one of those who scores his goals when used. This year he has unfortunately had bad luck because of the injury that forced him to stay on the sidelines for a long time. I don’t know if you should go and spend 30, 40, 50 million for Jackson Martinez when you have a player who, if he’s okay physically, has the potential and quality to score double digit number of goals. He is young and has proven to be a good investment.”
Even Kovacic received praise: “He did very well, I liked him a lot. He went straight into the game and I think it is a shame that we see so little of him. Milito? He came in almost at the end, the missed penalty weighs down his assessment.”
Oriali even commented on Thohir: “During the match, he was bored when he left the stadium I thought he seemed very disappointed instead. He also has bad luck because he hasn’t seen Inter win a lot.”

Well most of Inter fans says the same about Icardi and Kovacis and we know that our Inter was not playing well and we pointed the reason for it all Thohir please sack Mazzarri before we lose fifth spot to Parma I mean what the hell either Cordoba or even Zanetti would be better coaches than WM at this point we need immedite change we don’t need to watch Mazzarri scratching his face on bench
Hey Mazarin, I heard there is a managerial position available over at Catania, you should take it!
Let’s get Oriali back to work with Ausellio – would be awesome!! And van Gall or De Boer as or coach!
Partly good interview and good points
Okay, Orialli doesn’t seem like a big fan of Mazzarri then 😛
I agree with everything he said, though, including his assessment of Icardi. If we are getting a new striker, it definitely shouldn’t be JM, who will cost too much. If we are spending that kind of money (which we aren’t because we can’t afford it), we can get a proven striker who will be much better and more experienced, it will give Icardi the proper setting to grow further.
I agree Icardi should definitely be our future striker, though. He’s been having a good time on the field this season, and if he’s fit next year I expect a lot from him.
We have to see more of Kovacic on the account of Kuzmanovic, though. I think Kuz should be sold and a youngster should be called back instead (Benassi or Duncan?), giving Kovacic the proper place to grow. I also think Alvarez should be sold because he should be marketable (though his marketability is dropping by the minute) and we can reinvest the money to cover other positions that will be left bare after the “cleanup” this summer.
Totaly agree with Oriali. We need one striker more, but not spend a lot of money. We need to spend money for d.midf. and winger, change coach and system that we play.
