Italy finds an ally in Andreas Brehme. The former Inter defender, columnist for the German portal web.de, commented on the incident when Claudio Marchisio which in a way gave the game to Uruguay: “Italy were cheated, that foul is never red card. Maybe it was a caution, but never expulsion. What I saw yesterday was really upsetting.”
He was also hard against Luis Suarez: “He’s a great player, a real talent, I don’t understand why he does it.”

it is foul, but not straight red card.
yellow are the most.
The referee was too close to missjudge the challange
Cluadio should’ve avoided such delima the pressure went from their players toward ours anyway we looked too weak to challange for this world cup Italy players selection was not perfect and there was no tactical plan which could lead us on to glory
While i believe there’s no intention to hurt the opponents, its still a dangerous play. i think he raise his leg too high for a ball that rolling at the ground and to make it worse his boots landed just slightly below the opponents knee. Deserve a red card in my opinion.
I disagree. I believe it was a clear intention to hurt the rival, right there in front of the referee, so it should be a red card.
I believe you are 100% wrong. Marchisio is not that type of player. It was his first foul all game and you can clearly see that he bent his knee and spun his body around when he realised he was going to make contact with the uruguayan. It was definitely not a red card. Yellow at the most.
if cavani doesn’t get a yellow card for shoving chiellini like luggage off a converyor belt then marchision didn’t deserve a yellow card. the ref is the man of the match for Uruguay and he decided the outcome not the players
