Tonight, it’s the turn of Mateo Kovacic: The Croatian answered questions from the fans at the club’s official Twitter via the hashtag #askKovacic. Here are the questions from the fans along with the answers from Inter’s number 10:

What motivates you to play football?

“Football is my life. I love this sport and I’m happy when I play.”

What do you think of Vidic? 

“He’s a great player with a lot of experience. We need someone like him.”

How does it feel to play a World Cup when you are 20 years old? 

“It was a dream since childhood. Unfortunately we didn’t play as we know how to do, and we could have done better.”

What is your favorite position on the pitch? 

“It’s enough just to be on the midfield and everything is good. Maybe behind the two strikers.”

Have you always thought about playing football, or did you have any other ideas as a kid? 

“I have always only thought about football. I never imagined anything else.”

What do you think of Mauro Icardi? 

“He’s a great guy, a great player and I really hope he scores a lot of goals for us.”

What do you think of Brazil? 

“The team? I thought they would do better. Sad, even for them. The country is welcoming and I liked it.”

Which European player would you say you resemble the most? 

“I think of two names: Modric and Iniesta.”

What are your hobbies? Who do you live with in Milan?

“I walk around the city and I like to ride a bike to the center. Or I’m at home watching movies.”

How will you celebrate the first goal for Inter?

“First of all I will start to score, then I will think of that…”

With which players do you have the strongest bond? 

“With those who speak my language like Kuzmanovic Handanovic. But also Juan. It’s a good group.”

Why don’t you take the ball more often? 

“I know that in the future I’ll have to take more responsibility and I’m working for it.”

Who is the greatest player of all time for Inter? 

“I say Ronaldo.”

What is the goal of your career? 

“I would love to win the Champions League. It’s a dream for everyone. Then, do well with Croatia.”

How has the public in the U.S. greeted you? Is it weird to play in stadiums not dedicated to football?

“I think that football in the U.S. will grow. Now I understand the appeal of MLS.”

Is there a player in Inter’s history that inspires you? 

“Dejan Stankovic is the player in Inter’s history by whom I am inspired both on and off the pitch.”

What do you think of Kuzmanovic? 

“He gave me a big hand when I arrived. And he’s an incredible guy and a good player.”

Do you think you can lead the team and take the team to win the Europa League? 

“To feel important for the team is nice, but we need everyone. Yeah, the Europa League is a goal.”

Who is your all-time favorite football player of the Croatian national team?

“Prosinescki.”

Who is your favorite Inter player and with whom do you talk the most? 

“Thanks to Handanovic I learned so much, he is a true professional.”

At what age did you start playing football? 

“As a 5 year-old. I played five-a-side as well.”

In what do you feel stronger than a year ago? 

“I feel stronger in my head. Now I have more confidence in myself.”

Is there a Croatian player that you would recommend to Inter?

“There are so many talented young people.”

In a few years, do you want to be the captain? 

“There is already a great captain, and that is Ranocchia.”

Zidane or Gerrard as an idol?

“They are both very strong, but Zidane is Zidane.”

What do you think of Nagatomo?

“He’s a lot of fun in addition to being a great player.”

The best moment of your career?

“When I signed for Inter. In the World Cup? The best time will be in the next.”

What do you think of the new shirts?

“They are very beautiful, I like them.”

What do you say about Bonazzoli?

“He’s very young and he’s good. Inter have a good future with him.”

Why should the U.S. cheer for Inter?

“We have it in the name, we are FC Internazionale. International, therefore.”
